2 Pedestrians Injured in Pickup Truck Collision
Burnaby, BC – Two pedestrians were injured Tuesday evening after a pickup truck struck them near the Burnaby-Coquitlam border.
The incident occurred at North Road and Lougheed Highway. Burnaby RCMP responded to the scene shortly after 5 p.m., according to a statement to CBC.
Cpl. Mike Kalanj, a spokesperson for the Burnaby RCMP, said that the driver remained at the scene. The cause of the collision is currently under investigation. Police have asked motorists to avoid the area due to traffic disruptions in all directions.
Emergency health services confirmed that paramedics provided on-site medical treatment. Both patients were transported to the hospital in stable condition.
“Just avoid the area altogether. Police are going to be there for quite some time this evening,” said Cpl. Kalanj.
