A Massachusetts man was seriously injured after driving his truck into a home in Sweden, Maine, late Wednesday night, according to the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office.
Sean T. Demaggio, 52, of Wilmington, Massachusetts, was driving a 2020 Ford F-250 when he drove through the intersection of Lovell and Waterford roads at a high rate of speed, the Sheriff’s Office reported. The truck then struck a home at 1 Lovell Road, causing the home’s chimney to collapse onto the vehicle.

Demaggio sustained life-threatening injuries in the crash, officials said. He was transported to Bridgton Hospital and later flown to Maine Medical Center in Portland via LifeFlight.
Police confirmed that no one was inside the home at the time of the accident, and Demaggio was the only occupant of the truck. A crash reconstructionist from the sheriff’s office assisted with the investigation. Authorities believe speed was a likely factor in the crash, but the investigation is ongoing.
