A teenager has been charged in connection with the death of a youth who was being towed on a sled behind a pickup truck in Vaughan, Ontario, police said. The York Regional Police reported that the incident occurred in a residential area just before 10 p.m. on February 12th.
Heavy snowfall covered the city north of Toronto at the time. The youth sustained injuries while being towed and later passed away in the hospital.
The 17-year-old driver of the pickup truck is now facing charges of dangerous driving and dangerous driving causing death. Police are using this tragic incident to remind drivers that their actions behind the wheel can lead to ‘permanent and devastating consequences.’
