Van of Fireworks Explodes in Clydebank
Clydebank, Scotland – A van loaded with fireworks erupted in a series of explosions early on Sunday, February 23rd, after being deliberately set on fire, police have confirmed.
The incident unfolded around 1:00 AM on Braes Avenue. Rockets were reportedly launched into the night sky as a result of the blaze, according to authorities. Nearby buildings were evacuated as firefighters worked to extinguish the fire, and roads in the area were temporarily closed.
Fortunately, no injuries have been reported as a result of the explosion and subsequent fire, police indicated. Authorities are treating the incident as a “wilful” act and are appealing for any information that may help them understand the cause.
As part of their investigation, police are seeking information from the public and attempting to locate a man seen in the area at the time of the fire. The individual is described as white, believed to be in his 30s, of slim build, and with a shaved head. He was reportedly seen heading toward the canal path.
Police are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward to aid in the investigation.
