Miami Hurricanes Athletes’ Cars Stolen in Home Burglary
Miami quarterback Carson Beck and basketball player Hanna Cavinder were victims of a home burglary on Thursday night, resulting in the theft of their vehicles.
Tykwon Deandre Anderson was arrested by the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office and charged with burglary of an occupied dwelling while wearing a mask, grand theft, and grand theft of a vehicle, according to multiple media reports.
The arrest report indicated that Beck and Cavinder were asleep when the incident occurred. Beck reported a Mercedes and a Lamborghini were stolen, while Cavinder’s Range Rover was also taken.
According to the report, Anderson and three others arrived at the residence in a rented vehicle. Two individuals were observed jumping over a concrete fence to access the driveway, where two of the cars were parked. They gained access to the Range Rover, located a garage door opener, and used it to enter the home and steal the keys to the other vehicles.
The Range Rover and the Mercedes were later found abandoned by deputies.
Beck joined the Miami Hurricanes in January after spending four years at the University of Georgia. Cavinder and her twin sister, Haley, are basketball players for the Hurricanes. Hanna has played in 26 games this season with an average of 6.7 points per game.
This incident follows high-profile burglaries targeting other athletes, including NFL stars Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and Joe Burrow, in recent months.
