BYD’s Denza to Arrive in the UK
Chinese car manufacturer BYD is set to introduce its luxury sub-brand, Denza, to the UK and other European markets in late 2025. This move represents another step in the growing presence of Chinese automakers in the UK market, joining brands like Jaecoo, Xpeng, and Nio.
Denza, which currently offers a range of models with impressive performance capabilities, was established in May 2010 as a joint venture between Mercedes-Benz and BYD.

Denza’s European Debut and Milan Design Week
Denza Europe announced its upcoming debut at Milan’s prestigious Brera Design Week 2025. The brand will be a main sponsor of the design event, promising a range of premium electric models for the European market. “We’re bringing the future of premium electric mobility to Europe,” the company stated on social media.
Early Models and Contemporary Performance
Denza’s first model, the Denza EV, launched in 2014, offering a range of up to 248 miles per charge and a 184bhp electric motor. Its current range of models boasts even more impressive figures, positioning it to compete with established Western brands like Porsche and Lexus.

The Denza Z9: Performance and Luxury
One of the most exciting models in the current lineup is the Denza Z9, a sleek executive model introduced in 2024. This five-door shooting-brake style estate features three electric motors that produce up to 952bhp. The Z9 accelerates from 0-62mph in just 3.4 seconds and offers a range of 391 miles per charge. The Z9 boasts a high level of luxury, including amenities like dual refrigerators, dual-chamber air suspension, and a 33-sensor driver assistance system.
The Denza D9: Minivan Luxury
Another model in the Denza range is the D9, a luxurious minivan available with four or seven seats and either a plug-in hybrid or fully-electric powertrain. The D9 competes with models like the Toyota Alphard and Lexus LM. It offers advanced technology, including seven infotainment screens located throughout the vehicle.

Even with its bulky proportions, the most powerful version of the D9 accelerates from 0-62mph in under seven seconds, with the EV variant covering up to 373 miles on a single charge. In its home market, the Denza D9 is priced from 339,800 yuan (approximately £37,415), although UK prices are yet to be announced.
