ST. PETERSBURG, FL – A 27-year-old St. Petersburg woman died after being struck by a pickup truck while crossing Gandy Boulevard late Friday night, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.
The woman was crossing the highway just west of Oak Street Northeast when she ran into the path of the truck, which was driven by a 53-year-old woman from Dover. The accident occurred shortly before midnight, according to authorities.
The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
