NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Authorities are searching for a pickup truck involved in a fatal hit-and-run on Monday evening near the Davidson County line.
According to the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD), the incident occurred on Old Hickory Blvd. between I-24 and Firestone Parkway shortly before 7 p.m. Detectives reported that a man was on an electric scooter exiting a Dollar General parking lot and traveling along the shoulder of Old Hickory Blvd. when he tried to cross the road.
A dark-colored Toyota Tacoma then allegedly struck the man and his scooter. Witnesses informed detectives that the man was trapped under the truck along with his scooter. Sparks flew as the man was dragged “more than 900 feet,” according to the police report.
MNPD said the man and his scooter were dislodged from the truck near Firestone Parkway. The truck then fled toward Murfreesboro Pike.
