Swedish luxury automaker Volvo Cars India recently unveiled the facelifted XC90 in India. The updated flagship SUV originally debuted globally in September 2024.
In an exclusive virtual interview, Volvo Cars India Managing Director Jyoti Malhotra spoke with Shine Jacob about the company’s electric vehicle roadmap in India, their plans to raise the EV share to over 90 percent, and the future of the luxury car market in India. Below are edited excerpts from their conversation.
With Tesla planning to enter the Indian market, how do you view the competition in the premium car market?
“Considering what we have in the Indian market, Volvo is very competitively placed. We are performing quite well in different segments,” Malhotra stated.
