Audi has unveiled the latest iteration of its A6 Avant, and it’s bringing some interesting changes to the table.

More dynamic and efficient? Count us in. But more digital? We’re intrigued to see how this plays out. The 2025 A6 Avant, the company’s code name for “station wagon,” is set to hit the market.
Exterior designer Francesco D’Amore describes the A6 Avant’s design as a perfect balance — it’s both sporty and refined. The long wheelbase and hood give it a distinguished stance. Audi’s underbite grille design is a defining feature of the new look, which D’Amore says makes the car appear “very proud.” The design, along with the singleframe grille, is confident and sleek, emphasizing the car’s prestige.
The car’s updated shape also improves its aerodynamics considerably, with a drag coefficient of only 0.25. This will not only save fuel but also help reduce cabin noise.
Audi is introducing a new “MHEV plus” system for the new A6 Avant. This mild-hybrid configuration complements the existing starter-generator with a second 48V motor mounted at the back of the transmission. This allows the car to run fully on electric power during low-speed city driving and for maneuvering. The system will launch with two engine options. A 2.0-liter TDI diesel-four, delivering 201 horsepower and a hefty amount of torque, and a 3.0-liter V6 expected to produce 362 hp, with a likely strong torque output.
Notably absent from the initial announcements is the high-performance RS6 Avant. It’s expected that the RS6 variant will boast at least the 621 horsepower of last year’s model when it makes its eventual arrival. The A6 Avant will offer all-wheel steering and adaptive air suspension with adjustable ride height, enhancing the driving experience. Audi has also stiffened the chassis components.
The car will feature a panoramic main display and another display for the passenger. Audi describes the cabin as “warm and personable.”
While specific details on screen sizes, tech features, and driver-assist systems are yet to be released, the new Audi A6 Avant is scheduled to reach customers by the end of May. Pricing in Germany starts from €58,000, approximately $61,000.
