2026 Cadillac Escalade IQ: Electrifying the Icon
Cadillac is taking its flagship SUV into the electric future with the 2026 Escalade IQ. This all-electric version offers the space and luxury of the traditional Escalade, but with a zero-emission powertrain. With a focus on high-tech features and a premium feel, the Escalade IQ aims to attract buyers seeking a sustainable yet opulent driving experience.

What’s New for 2026?
The big news is the arrival of the Escalade IQL, an extended-wheelbase version of the Escalade IQ. This model adds four inches of third-row legroom and an inch of headroom, providing even more space for passengers. Production of the IQL is scheduled to begin in mid-2025.
Pricing and Trims
The Escalade IQ is expected to be priced in the premium range, reflecting its luxury features and advanced technology. Estimated pricing is as follows:
- IQ Luxury: $130,000 (est.)
- IQ Sport: $131,000 (est.)
- IQL Luxury: $132,695
- IQL Sport: $134,000 (est.)
- IQ Luxury 2: $150,000 (est.)
- IQ Sport 2: $152,000 (est.)
- IQL Premium Luxury: $155,000 (est.)
- IQL Premium Sport: $156,000 (est.)
Given its enhanced passenger space, Car and Driver recommends the long-wheelbase IQL in the Premium Luxury trim for those wanting the best of the best. This trim, along with the standard IQ Luxury 2 model, comes with high-end features like premium upholstery, massaging front seats, a 36-speaker AKG stereo, and night vision.

For those who prioritize rear-seat comfort, an optional Executive Second Row Package is available. This package includes stowable tray tables, 12.6-inch displays, a rear control center, wireless phone charging, and massaging, heated, and ventilated seats with optional power adjustment and headrest speakers.
Powertrain and Performance
Both the Escalade IQ and IQL feature an all-wheel-drive system and a powerful electric powertrain capable of generating up to 750 horsepower in Velocity Max drive mode. Cadillac claims a driving range of approximately 460 miles on a full charge. In normal driving conditions, the Escalade IQ still delivers over 650 horsepower. Car and Driver will provide performance data after comprehensive testing.
Cadillac states that the IQL can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds. However, this is slightly slower than the gas-powered Escalade V, which achieves the same feat in 4.3 seconds.
Towing and Payload
The Escalade IQ maintains the towing capabilities expected of a full-size SUV, with a maximum towing capacity of 8,000 pounds. The IQL variant slightly lowers this to 7,500 pounds. While electric vehicles excel regarding instant torque, towing can significantly reduce driving range.
Range, Charging, and Battery
The Escalade IQ uses a 205.0-kWh battery pack. Cadillac estimates a range of 460 miles on a single charge. The Escalade IQ’s 800-volt architecture supports DC fast-charging, allowing for approximately 116 miles of range to be added in just 10 minutes. A Level 2 charger provides 19.2 kW AC, or roughly 36.5 miles of range per hour. The Escalade IQ also features bidirectional charging, permitting energy transfer between the vehicle and a home with the appropriate setup.
Interior, Comfort, and Cargo
The Escalade IQ interior is dominated by screens, including a 55-inch display stretching across the dashboard. Leather upholstery, polished aluminum accents, and ambient lighting enhance the luxurious feel. All models offer captain’s chairs in the second row and a power-folding 60/40 split bench in the third row. The IQL provides increased legroom and headroom in the third row. The absence of a traditional engine and transmission tunnel creates a 12-cubic-foot “frunk” under the hood.
Infotainment and Connectivity
The Escalade IQ’s infotainment system is powered by Google but will not have Apple CarPlay, as GM has eliminated it from its EVs. The system is controlled primarily via touchscreen and haptic buttons. Other tech features include an AKG audio system, a 5G Wi-Fi hotspot, and HD entertainment streaming for rear-seat passengers.
Safety and Driver-Assistance Features
Super Cruise hands-free driving technology is standard on the Escalade IQ. An optional night vision feature is available. Key safety features include:
- Standard automated emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection
- Standard lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist
- Standard adaptive cruise control with a hands-free driving mode
Warranty and Maintenance
Like Cadillac’s other models, the Escalade IQ provides a competitive warranty, with a powertrain warranty that exceeds some rivals. The first dealer maintenance visit is covered, but longer periods of complimentary maintenance might be provided by other premium brands.
- Limited warranty: 4 years or 50,000 miles
- Powertrain warranty: 6 years or 70,000 miles
- Complimentary maintenance: Covered for the first visit
