Genesis GV60 Receives First Redesign, Launches in Korea
Frankfurt, Germany – March 6, 2025 – Genesis has unveiled its redesigned GV60 luxury electric SUV, with sales commencing today in South Korea. This marks the first refresh for Genesis’s initial dedicated all-electric model since its launch in October 2021. The revamp incorporates aesthetic and technological improvements, aligning with the brand’s ‘Athletic Elegance’ design philosophy.
The updated GV60 boasts a new fourth-generation 84 kWh battery, enhancing the vehicle’s capabilities. This upgrade enables the GV60 to achieve a range of up to 481 kilometers (approximately 299 miles) on a single charge*, as per Korean EV certification standards. The vehicle also integrates its innovative Smart Regeneration System and other newly introduced driving features.

‘The GV60 has been redesigned with a more refined exterior, offering a modern and futuristic appearance, while the interior showcases the brand’s ‘Beauty of White Space’ concept with advanced tech features.’
Exterior Enhancements and Design
The redesign features a reshaped three-dimensional front bumper, which gives the vehicle a bold appearance. The headlamps integrate Genesis’s signature Two Lines design, utilizing a new Micro Lens Array (MLA) technology.
GV60 customers will have new optional alloy wheel designs, including 21-inch dark metallic glossy grey or 20-inch light silver options. The rear bumper has also been redesigned for a contemporary look, emphasizing the GV60’s wide stance.
Interior Refinements and Tech Upgrades
Inside, the GV60 retains well-regarded design elements, such as the Crystal Sphere gear selector, while undergoing certain refinements. The new 27-inch connected car Integrated Cockpit (ccIC) infotainment system, which eliminates the bezel between the cluster and the AVN screen, is a key addition.
A newly designed three-spoke steering wheel is equipped with a floating center console and dashboard that incorporate patterned aluminum, improving the premium feel of the interior.
Performance and Driving Experience
The high-energy-density fourth-generation battery in the GV60 increases capacity from 77.4 kWh to 84 kWh. Aerodynamic improvements, including the revised bumper profile and a new 3D full undercover, enhance the driving range.
Charging time remains at 18 minutes when using a 350 kW ultra-fast charger to charge from 10% to 80%. The Battery Conditioning Mode has been optimized for rapid charging, even in cold weather. The Smart Regeneration System 3.0 adjusts regenerative braking based on navigation data and driving conditions for efficiency. The new model also has a new electric Active Sound Design (e-ASD) with options like “Horizon” and “Heritage: Black” to intuitively convey torque and speed through auditory feedback.
The GV60 all-wheel drive (AVD) can deliver a combined maximum output of 360 kilowatts (490 metric horsepower) and a maximum torque of 700 Newton-meters. In Boost Mode, it can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 4 seconds during experiments.
Advanced Driver Assistance and Features
The GV60 offers a suite of driver-assistance technologies, including a voice recognition system that responds to “Hey Genesis.” The infotainment experience is enhanced with streaming services and a Bang & Olufsen high-resolution sound system with 17 speakers and Dolby Atmos technology. The Advanced Driver Assistance System includes features like In-Cabin Camera (ICC), Lane Keeping Assist 2, and a Hands-On Detection (HOD) steering wheel, alongside convenient additions such as Built-in Camera 2, Digital Center Mirror, and Walk Away Lock.
Over-the-air software updates are available for features like Smart Parking and battery charging.
