The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has unveiled a new luxury limousine and chauffeur rental service, aiming to elevate the city’s transportation offerings. This initiative is directly linked to the introduction of the Takamul Permit, a measure designed to unify Dubai’s commercial transport sectors, particularly the luxury vehicle and car rental industries.

The service is designed to cater to a wide range of users, including residents, visitors, and tourists, with the goal of providing a seamless and high-end travel experience. Jamal Al Sadah, the Director of Commercial Transport Activities at the RTA’s Licensing Agency, explained that the permit facilitates collaboration between limousine companies and car rental firms, allowing for the temporary use of luxury vehicles. “This initiative benefits both the RTA and the business sector while providing individuals, tourists, and residents with the option to hire a chauffeured luxury car for up to one month, subject to regulations,” he stated.
Al Sadah also highlighted that the initiative establishes a flexible regulatory framework to improve operations within the car rental sector. “We have updated regulations and systems to streamline operations under the RTA’s jurisdiction while improving relations between rental companies and customers.” He further explained that companies operating under this new framework must adhere to regulations governing light vehicle hire and deluxe passenger transport. This includes registering rental contracts, enrolling deluxe transport companies, and listing drivers via the Transport Activities Rental System (TARS).
To access the service, both car rental and luxury transport companies must ensure that they have a shared member listed on their commercial licenses. Customers looking to utilize the service can apply for the necessary permits through the RTA website.
