The Indian electric vehicle (EV) market is poised for growth in the first half of 2025. Several major automakers are planning to launch new electric cars, including Maruti Suzuki, MG, and Tata Motors.
Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara
The eagerly awaited Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara is scheduled for launch in India during the first half of 2025. The electric SUV was displayed at the Auto Expo 2025 in a production-ready form, and it has already started arriving at dealerships across the country.

The e-Vitara is expected to be available with two battery pack options, a 49 kWh and a 61 kWh pack. It promises a range exceeding 500 kilometers on a full charge.
MG M9
MG Motor is expanding its presence in the Indian EV market, with a focus on premium offerings. The MG M9, a premium electric MPV showcased at the Auto Expo 2025, is expected to challenge competitors like the Kia Carnival and Toyota Vellfire. The M9 will be sold through MG’s premium retail network, MG Select. Equipped with a 90 kWh battery pack, the M9 is expected to offer a range of around 400 kilometers.
MG Cyberster
Another EV presented at the Auto Expo 2025 was the MG Cyberster, an electric roadster. Scheduled for sale through MG Select alongside the M9 MPV, the Cyberster features scissor doors. It is powered by a 77 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, and offers a range of up to 570 kilometers on a full charge. MG claims the Cyberster can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 3.2 seconds. Its electric powertrain produces 510 bhp of peak power and 725 Nm of maximum torque.
Tata Harrier EV
Tata Motors is a leading player in the Indian electric passenger vehicle market, and is preparing to launch the Harrier EV, its next major electric car. The concept form of the Harrier EV has already been showcased, and the prototype has been spotted during road tests. It is expected to launch in the first half of 2025, and could offer around 500 kilometers of range, along with all-wheel drive (AWD) technology.
