Man Arrested After Stealing Delivery Van and Ramming Police Car in Beaverton
BEAVERTON, Ore. (KATU) — A man is in custody following an incident where he reportedly stole a delivery van and rammed a police car, according to Beaverton Police.
Surveillance footage shows Forrest Lee Guayante, 29, of Aberdeen, Washington, stealing a delivery truck from Elephant’s Delicatessen shortly after 4 a.m. on Friday, November 15, 2024. At the time of the theft, the truck was being loaded at an Elephant’s warehouse in Milwaukie. An employee was inside the cargo area and had to jump off the moving vehicle, sustaining only minor injuries.

“A few hours later around 12:15 PM, using an air tag, Elephants Delicatessen employees tracked the stolen truck to a parking lot in Beaverton near SW Walker Rd. and SW Cedar Hill Blvd,” Beaverton Police reported. Employees contacted the police and directed them to the truck’s location. When police arrived, Guayante rammed a Beaverton Police vehicle in an attempt to escape. He then fled on foot, running through business parking lots and neighborhood yards before being apprehended.
Guayante was taken to the Washington County Jail. He faces charges including unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, reckless endangering, felony attempt to elude, and hit and run.
