A mother has admitted to causing the death of her nine-year-old son in a tragic car crash that occurred last year. Barbara Roe, 39, pleaded guilty to causing death by dangerous driving in a Bournemouth Crown Court hearing.
Roe was driving a Citroen DS9 with her son, Zac, as a passenger when the accident took place at 5:20 PM on March 25th, on the A354 at East Woodyates, near Blandford, Dorset. Zac, described as a “little angel” by his family, died at the scene.

Barbara Roe (pictured leaving Poole Magistrates Court on January 31), 39, was driving a Citroen DS9 with nine-year-old son Zac in the passenger seat when her car collided with a van and a cattle transporter
The case was adjourned until May for a pre-sentence report. Roe has been disqualified from driving and was released on bail, with conditions not to contact her husband or mother-in-law.
The boy’s father, Josh Roe, shared his grief in a statement after the loss of his son. “Words cannot describe the pain I’m feeling, my heart is broken. You are my little angel. I love you more than anything in this world, you are my best buddy,” he said. His grandfather, Chris Roe, also expressed his sorrow, saying, “Zac, there are just no words to find. I just want to thank you for the wonderful and fun-filled memories we shared on your short journey of your life.”

Roe, 39, from Ludgershall, Wilts, today pleaded guilty to causing her son Zac’s (pictured) death and has been disqualified from driving
The judge, William Mousley KC, ordered a psychiatric report and has scheduled the sentencing hearing for May 2nd. “There is a detailed psychiatric report, it’s very detailed and gives important information,” Charles Gabb, defending, said. The judge also imposed an interim driving ban on Roe until the sentencing hearing.

Zac died at the scene of the horrific crash on the A354 at East Woodyates, near Blandford, Dorset, at 5.20pm on March 25 last year

Zac lived in Andover, Hampshire. Following his death, his father Josh Roe said in a statement: ‘Words cannot describe the pain I’m feeling, my heart is broken. You are my little angel. I love you more than anything in this world, you are my best buddy’
Judge Mousley said to Roe, “You will be sentenced on Friday May 2, if you do not come to court on May 2 without a good reason you will be committing a separate offence for which you could be separately punished.”
