Morgan Motor Company has built its reputation on intentionally crafting cars that feel plucked from the 1920s. Even with modern underpinnings, each new Morgan maintains an anachronistic charm, designed to look like its predecessors. However, the new Morgan Supersport marks the brand’s most significant departure yet from its old-school formula.
The Supersport retains the classic Morgan face: prominent, circular headlights; an upright horseshoe grille; and flowing fenders that evoke pre-war sports cars. However, a closer look reveals modern touches such as LED main beams and flanking side lights in the retro-styled headlights. The glossy black front bumper, with its assertive intakes, echoes this blend of old and new.
Underneath, the Supersport features Morgan’s latest CXV aluminum platform, which boasts a 10% increase in torsional rigidity and 100% stiffer suspension mounting points. Specifying the carbon fiber hard-top roof further increases the chassis stiffness by another 10%.
The Supersport is arguably the sportiest car Morgan has ever produced, thanks to a faster steering ratio, stiffer spring rates, revised dampers, and adjustable camber plates.

Despite the modern advancements, the Supersport remains a Morgan at heart. A significant portion of its body is still crafted from hand-finished ash wood, a detail visible when you open the trunk.

Powering the Supersport is a BMW “B58” 3.0-liter turbocharged straight-six engine producing 335 horsepower. The engine is exclusively paired with an automatic transmission, a departure from Morgan’s traditional offerings, which often include a manual transmission option. However, the ZF eight-speed automatic is renowned for its performance in various BMW applications, ensuring a smooth and responsive experience.

Inside, the Supersport boasts more technology and luxury than any previous Morgan. It features a Sennheiser sound system, Bluetooth audio and calling capabilities, a digital screen integrated into the instrument cluster, and new dash-mounted controls. While modern Morgans have always offered a degree of luxury, the Supersport elevates the experience with enhanced creature comforts.

Owners of the Supersport can choose between a soft top or a fixed hard top, as the car features an interchangeable roof system.
This model is not exactly a new era for Morgan, as the company has been trending towards more modern, capable sports cars for a few years now. But the Supersport certainly represents the peak of that evolution to date. It maintains the classic Morgan aesthetic and handcrafted construction, making it an appealing choice for those seeking a modern sports car experience with a touch of vintage charm, though it won’t be available for sale in the United States.
