Volkswagen has revealed the design for the ID. Every1, its planned all-electric successor to the Up hatchback. The announcement was made on Wednesday, marking a key step in the company’s move toward a broader electric vehicle lineup.

The new model, based on the design of the Up, which was discontinued in 2023, is scheduled to be available in 2027. The price is estimated to be around €20,000 (approximately $21,500).
“The ID. Every1 is the final piece of the puzzle on our way to the broadest selection of models,” stated brand boss Thomas Schäfer at the launch, held at the Düsseldorf Congress Centre.

The move to introduce the ID. Every1 comes despite a recent downturn in electric car sales, which has, in part, been blamed for some of the company’s recent financial challenges. The discontinuation of the Up was due to its failure to meet updated cybersecurity regulations.
A new software, developed through a partnership with U.S. firm Rivian, will be used for the first time in this model.
