Volvo ES90 Electric Sedan Breaks Cover
Volvo has introduced the ES90, the all-electric sibling to the S90 sedan. This new model is constructed on the brand’s SPA2 architecture, the same platform as the EX90, and showcases innovative technology. A key selling point is its impressive range, with the ability to travel up to 700 kilometers on a single full charge.

Powertrain Specifications
The ES90 uses the modular SPA2 platform, which incorporates an 800V electrical system. It houses a 106kWh battery pack. The sedan supports 350 kWh charging speeds, allowing for a 300km range after just 10 minutes of fast charging. While the automaker claims a range of about 700 kilometers, specific power output and torque figures are still pending.
Exterior Design
The ES90 sports signature Volvo design elements, including the ‘Thor’s hammer’ LED headlights, a closed-off grille, and C-shaped tail lamps. Its roofline features a lidar hump. Its aero-optimized fastback design gives the car a sleek profile, similar to the plug-in hybrid S90 available in international markets. The ES90 will be offered in a selection of seven exterior colors and offers wheel options ranging from 20 to 22 inches in size.

Interior and Technology
Inside, the ES90 has a minimalist design, with clean door panels and a streamlined dashboard. Most vehicle functions are managed through a 14.5-inch touchscreen display. A separate 9-inch digital instrument cluster provides the driver with key information, and a head-up display is included for real-time driving data. The ES90 includes advanced technology and convenience features, such as an advanced air purification system, a panoramic sunroof with electrochromic dimming, ambient lighting with six color options, a four-zone automatic climate control system, and integrated Google apps.
India Launch and Price
The ES90 is slated to go on sale in countries like Germany, the United Kingdom, France, and the Czech Republic. Expect other markets to receive the car later this year and in 2026. An Indian market launch is yet to be confirmed.
