Volkswagen Introduces ID. EVERY1 Concept, an Affordable Electric Car for 2027
Volkswagen is expanding its electric vehicle lineup with the introduction of the ID. EVERY1, a concept car designed to be an accessible entry point into the world of electric mobility. The ID. EVERY1 is scheduled for launch in 2027 with an expected starting price of around EUR 20,000.
Designed with the European market in mind, the ID. EVERY1 aims to make electric vehicles more attainable for a wider range of consumers. It will complement the forthcoming ID. 2all, which is expected to debut in 2026 at an estimated EUR 25,000.
This new model fits within Volkswagen’s strategy of producing compact, practical, and budget-friendly vehicles. Like the iconic Beetle and Up!, this model promises to deliver efficient urban mobility.
The ID. EVERY1 concept is part of Volkswagen’s Electric Urban Car Family. This division is managed under Volkswagen’s Brand Group Core, which is also responsible for many other high-volume models within the Volkswagen Group.
Cutting-Edge Software and Modern Design
The ID. EVERY1 will be equipped with a new software architecture, supporting lifelong updates and upgrades. This ensures that the vehicle can be continuously improved with the latest technological advancements after the initial purchase. This approach is meant to make the car «future-proof».
“We are putting our customers at the center of development more than ever before. The ID. EVERY1 will be the first in our lineup to feature a fundamentally new, powerful software system,” said Kai Grünitz, Volkswagen Board Member for Technical Development.
Andreas Mindt, Volkswagen’s Head of Design, describes the ID. EVERY1 as “bold yet accessible.” The car’s dynamic front lights and friendly rear design give it a friendly and confident appearance, setting it apart in the EV market.
Compact Size, Spacious Interior
Although compact, the ID. EVERY1 features a surprisingly spacious interior. Measuring 3,880 mm in length, it slots between the former Up! (3,600 mm) and the current Polo (4,074 mm). The car can comfortably accommodate four passengers and offers a 305-liter luggage compartment, ideal for urban use.
Built on Volkswagen’s modular electric drive (MEB) platform with front-wheel drive, the ID. EVERY1 is powered by a 70 kW (95 PS) electric motor. It can achieve a top speed of 130 km/h and has a minimum range of 250 km, suitable for daily commutes and short trips.
Volkswagen is making a commitment to affordability in the electric vehicle market. The ID. EVERY1 represents a significant step forward in their mission to provide sustainable, accessible, and future-ready mobility for all.
