A man has died after being struck by a truck in Fern Creek, according to the Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD).
According to police reports, the incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday near the intersection of Bardstown and Fern Creek roads. Authorities stated that a pedestrian, described as wearing dark clothing, was walking in the road when a pickup truck attempted to avoid him but ultimately collided with the individual.
LMPD indicated that the driver immediately stopped the vehicle and contacted emergency services. First responders from EMS and the fire department arrived at the scene. The injured man was transported to UofL Hospital with critical, life-threatening injuries. Sadly, the man succumbed to his injuries on Thursday.
Authorities have not yet released the victim’s name. However, LMPD has stated that no charges are expected to be filed in connection with the incident.
