Michael Jordan’s Reaction to a $3 Million Hypercar
Michael Jordan’s passion for cars is well-documented, even predating his iconic Air Jordan deal. Now, nearly two years after the purchase, an insider has revealed Jordan’s reaction to his luxurious Hennessey Venom F5 Roadster.
“He was blown away. Nothing is as intense and fully engaging as this car,” said the insider, speaking to The Post about the Bulls legend’s appreciation for the vehicle. “Some hypercars are built for luxury, but the Hennessey is out-and-out power and performance.”

The car, valued at over $3 million, was delivered to Jordan at his exclusive Grove XXIII golf course back in 2023. The car was built by John Hennessey, a former race car driver who hand-delivered the vehicle to “His Airness.”
The Appeal of Speed and Exclusivity
The Hennessey Venom F5 Roadster’s high price stems from its limited production run of only 45 vehicles produced between 2013 and 2020. As Hennessey himself pointed out, these cars are “so exclusive, [purchasers] are also buying pieces of history.”
With its racing pedigree, the Venom F5 Roadster boasts an impressive 6.6L twin-turbocharged V8 engine. This engine generates a staggering 1,817 horsepower and 1,193 lb-ft of torque, making it one of the fastest hypercars in the world. This car is not only about luxury, it offers a thrill ride for those behind the wheel, with an alleged top speed exceeding 300 miles per hour.
Jordan’s Car Collection
Jordan’s love for cars began long before his NBA career. In fact, even before the Nike deal was finalized, he asked for a red Mercedes 380SL. While that didn’t materialize, it’s clear that Jordan has a deep appreciation for automobiles. This passion is reflected in his extensive car collection, which is valued at over $8.3 million.
Beyond the Hennessey Venom F5 Roadster, Jordan’s collection includes:
- Several Ferraris, including a Ferrari 488 Pista Spider valued at around $350,000.
- A Mercedes SLR McLaren 722, worth over $600,000
- A rare 2010 Bugatti Veyron Sang Noir which has an acceleration of 0-100 in 2.5 seconds.
As Jordan continues to expand his collection, his brand continues to reach new heights. Nike’s Q1 report from last year showed the brand reaching $7 billion in revenue.
