NORTH FOND DU LAC – A moped driver sustained critical injuries in a collision with a pickup truck on March 13 in North Fond du Lac.
According to the North Fond du Lac Police Department, the accident occurred around 5:35 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Chapman Avenue and Marcoe Street.
Preliminary investigations suggest the pickup truck was heading west on Marcoe Street and failed to stop at the stop sign at Chapman Avenue, resulting in a collision with a moped crossing the intersection. The moped driver was subsequently airlifted to a regional medical center to receive treatment for serious injuries.
Authorities report that all individuals involved are assisting with the ongoing investigation. Police stated that impairment is not believed to have been a factor.
Assisting at the scene were the North Fond du Lac EMS and Fire Department, the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office, the Wisconsin State Patrol, and the Neenah Police.
