DETROIT (WKRC) – Ford Motor Company has issued another recall for thousands of its top-selling pickup trucks and SUVs.
According to The Car Connection, the recall affects 10,626 vehicles for a trailer-brake software issue that may not have been fully corrected in a previous recall. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reports that the software issue could prevent the proper application of trailer brakes on vehicles towing trailers with electric or electric-over-hydraulic brakes, potentially increasing the risk of an accident.
The specific models affected by this recall include:
- 2021-2022 Ford F-150s
- 2022 Ford F-250s
- 2022 Ford F-350s
- 2022 Ford F-450s
- 2022 Ford F-550s
- 2022 Ford Maverick compact
- 2022 Ford Expedition SUVs
- 2022 Lincoln Navigator SUVs
Ford plans to send notification letters to affected vehicle owners by April 14. Owners can also contact Ford’s customer service department at 1-866-436-7332 or visit Ford’s recall webpage for more information.
