Tesla Model 3: A Great Value Electric Car
The Tesla Model 3 has consistently impressed, and now presents an even more attractive proposition. The exciting news? You can snag one for under £15,000!
I remember the first time I drove the Tesla Model 3. I was immediately struck by how it outperformed the Model S of the time, especially given the more accessible price point. It’s a fantastic value proposition in the electric vehicle market, offering a wealth of technology that rivals, and often surpasses, its German competitors.
It’s hard to believe that the Model 3 has been around for six years. Despite its age, the car still feels contemporary, making it an excellent choice in the used EV market. Used models from 2019 are now available for under £15,000 – a significant saving compared to its original price.
For buyers in the used market, this means you have the opportunity to purchase this impressive car at a considerable discount. The Model 3’s interior, though button-free with a stripped back layout, still feels fresh even after several years.

Finding a Model 3 equipped with Autopilot, which includes adaptive cruise control, shouldn’t be too challenging. The autopilot feature takes the stress out of long-distance trips. It keeps you in your lane and maintains a safe distance from other vehicles.

Charging is convenient with access to Tesla’s Supercharger network. You simply pull up and plug in; billing is automatic through the car. These superchargers are known for being reliable and fast.
Whilst the Model 3 is exceptional, it’s worth noting that the interior build quality is not quite on par with, for example, a BMW i4. It can feel a bit more flimsy. That said we did live with a Model 3 that had covered 170,000 miles as a taxi and it held up quite well. For £15,000, you can expect to find a 2019 Standard Range model with approximately 60,000 miles on the odometer. It boasts a claimed range of 278 miles. The ex-taxi we had was still getting very close to the original claimed range. If your budget extends to £20,000, you’ll be able to get your hands on the Performance version. The Performance edition offers brisk acceleration, reaching 0-60mph in just 5.3 seconds. It should still be able to travel over 300 miles on a single charge.
