Tiny vans are a common sight on Japan’s roads, and Honda has just introduced a new all-electric contender to this competitive market. The N-VAN e: joins the growing number of battery-powered kei cars, offering a compact and efficient option for both commercial and private buyers.

While Honda has yet to disclose the exact size of the N-VAN e:’s battery pack, the company estimates a range of 152 miles (245 km) on a single charge. The EV supports both standard 6 kW AC charging and faster 50 kW DC charging, the latter enabling a recharge in approximately 30 minutes. Performance figures, such as horsepower and torque, have not been released.

Four distinct versions of the N-VAN e: will be available. The L4 model, designed for both commercial and private use, features four seats, a 7-inch infotainment screen, two-tone exterior color options, and halogen headlights. In contrast, the FUN trim is aimed at lifestyle buyers who enjoy leisure activities and features a light beige interior and two-tone paint finishes. A single-seat version has also been developed specifically for commercial applications. This variant boasts an extended cabin with increased cargo capacity due to a lowered floor.

These configurations will be available exclusively through the Honda Fleet Sales Division and Honda’s online store. Despite its compact dimensions, the N-VAN e: comes equipped with a range of safety technologies, including adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, road departure mitigation, traffic sign recognition, and a collision mitigation braking system.
