Joint Law Enforcement Effort Foils Illegal Luxury Car Operation
BLYTHEVILLE, Ark. — In a coordinated operation on December 9, 2024, a collaboration between the Arkansas State Police (ASP) Criminal Investigation Division, ASP Highway Patrol Division, the Second Judicial Drug Task Force, and the Blytheville Police Department led to the recovery of two high-end vehicles during a traffic stop in Mississippi County.
The operation began when Drug Task Force agents monitoring Interstate 55 noticed a car hauler transporting a 2022 Lamborghini Urus and a 2022 Porsche Panamera among other vehicles. ASP Troopers initiated a traffic stop on the tractor-trailer, which revealed that the Lamborghini had a fraudulent vehicle identification number (VIN). Further investigation showed that the vehicle had been reported stolen from Sarasota, Florida, in 2022.

ASP Criminal Investigation Division’s subsequent probe found that the Porsche also had an altered VIN. The combined value of the two luxury vehicles is estimated to be approximately $460,000.
This successful operation demonstrates the effectiveness of inter-agency collaboration in combating vehicle theft and trafficking. The Arkansas State Police continue to work with local law enforcement to protect consumers and maintain road safety across the state.
