Audi’s Electric SUV, the Q6 e-tron, to Get a More Affordable Option

Audi Australia is expanding its electric vehicle lineup with a cheaper version of the Q6 e-tron, a move designed to bring it within reach of more buyers. The new entry-level variant will be priced under $100,000 (before on-road costs), making it significantly more accessible than the current Performance model.

The announcement confirms earlier expectations and marks a significant push by Audi to broaden the appeal of its electric offerings in the Australian market. The new model is anticipated to arrive during the third quarter of 2025, encompassing July to September.

Unlike the Performance variant, which starts at $115,500, the new model will be priced at $99,900. However, this price doesn’t undercut the $91,387 luxury car tax (LCT) threshold for fuel-efficient vehicles.

While being more affordable, the new variant maintains many features of the Performance model. It will, however, feature a smaller 83kWh battery, as opposed to the 100kWh battery found in the more expensive trim. The new Q6 e-tron is expected to deliver a driving range of 462km (WLTP) and, like the Performance, will use a rear-wheel-drive configuration. For power, it will use a 185kW/485Nm electric motor on the rear axle, allowing a 0-100km/h acceleration time of 7.6 seconds. An overboost function can briefly increase the electric motor’s output to 215kW, reducing the time to 7.0 seconds.

Inside both the new entry-level and Performance models are Audi’s new 14.5-inch infotainment touchscreen and 11.9-inch virtual cockpit digital driver display, all housed within a single ‘Digital Stage’ structure. A 10.9-inch passenger touchscreen is also standard.

Additional features include tri-zone climate control, 360-degree cameras, electric front memory seats with heating, a digital ‘convenience’ key, 19-inch alloy wheels, a heated steering wheel, heated outboard rear seats, and a comprehensive suite of active safety measures.

The entry-level Q6 e-tron is expected to join the range from Q3 2025 (July to September inclusive). A full list of prices and specifications are available.
