Auto Trader’s April 2025 Report Reveals Top Electric Vehicles and New Car Models
Auto Trader has released its latest list of the most in-demand new cars on its platform for March, with the Volkswagen Golf topping the overall list with a 4.1% share of all new car enquiries as of April 2025. The MG ZS secured second place overall with a 2.6% share, while Land Rover’s iconic Range Rover came in third with 2.5% of leads.

The top five positions were dominated by established automotive brands, but Chinese manufacturers Jaecoo and BYD made significant entries into the top ten. Jaecoo’s 7 model, launched in 2023, captured 1.8% of enquiries, becoming the seventh most in-demand new car. BYD’s Seal U generated 1.6% of enquiries, tying with Cupra’s new Terramar model.
Electric Vehicle Rankings
In the electric vehicle (EV) category, the MG ZS maintained its lead for the third consecutive month, commanding nearly 8% of all new EV enquiries sent to retailers through Auto Trader. The Skoda Elroq moved into second place with a 6.4% share, while BMW’s i4 executive model followed closely with 6.2%. Both the Elroq and i4 experienced the fastest growth in lead share this month among all electric models.
