A Bexar County Sheriff’s deputy was involved in a collision on the Southeast Side of San Antonio on Wednesday afternoon while pursuing a stolen pickup truck. The incident occurred at approximately 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of City Base Road and Southeast Military Drive, west of Interstate 37. According to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO), the deputy was chasing a stolen pickup truck that had fled from a traffic stop at around 40 miles per hour. The suspect remains at large. The BCSO reported that the deputy collided with another vehicle during the pursuit, resulting in the other driver being hospitalized for further treatment. Fortunately, the deputy sustained no injuries and only suffered front-end damage to their department-issued vehicle. The suspect has been identified through security footage, according to a preliminary BCSO report.
