The winning vehicle, a long-wheelbase sedan, captivated the judges with its exceptional combination of comfort, advanced features, and engaging driving dynamics, setting a new benchmark in the luxury segment.
The competition for this year’s award was fierce, featuring the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, the Porsche Panamera GTS, and the Mercedes-Benz CLE 300 Cabriolet. The BMW 5 Series ultimately distinguished itself, impressing the judges with its comprehensive package.
The BMW 5 Series LWB boasts impressive dimensions, measuring 5,165 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width, and 1,518 mm in height. The exterior showcases an evolutionary design language, highlighted by a wider BMW kidney grille, sleek new LED headlamps, and a flowing roofline to enhance its sophisticated look.
Interior and Features
Inside, the cabin reflects the car’s luxurious appeal with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.9-inch central touchscreen, providing access to various vehicle functions and infotainment options. Further enhancing the in-cabin experience are features like four-zone climate control, ambient lighting, and an 18-speaker sound system from Bowers and Wilkins and active front seat ventilation. A panoramic glass roof, an interior camera with remote view via the MyBMW app, a 360-degree camera, and remote parking capabilities accessible through a smartphone are also included.
Performance
Under the hood, the BMW 5 Series is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, delivering 255 bhp and 400 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system, optimizing performance and efficiency. An 8-speed automatic gearbox is standard. The sedan can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 6.5 seconds, with a top speed electronically limited to 250 kmph.
