The Bourne Police Department responded to a vehicle fire on Crows Nest Drive early Friday morning, the department announced.
Authorities received multiple 911 calls at approximately 2:36 AM on March 21st, prompting a response from both the Bourne Police and Fire Departments. Upon arrival, officers discovered an active fire within a pickup truck. The fire was extinguished by police officers using fire extinguishers from their cruisers, according to a Facebook post by the Bourne Police Department.
The fire caused significant damage to the interior of the vehicle, but thankfully did not spread to any surrounding structures. “Due to the nature of the fire, Massachusetts State Police Fire Marshals were notified and responded to investigate,” the Facebook post stated.
The Massachusetts State Police Fire Marshal’s Office is now leading the investigation, assisted by the Bourne police and fire departments. The Massachusetts Department of Fire Services did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the cause of the fire.
