British Volunteers Donate Pickup Trucks to Ukraine
Lviv, Ukraine – February 26, 2025 – British volunteers have donated 35 pickup trucks to the Ukrainian Defense Forces through the “Pickups for Peace” charity initiative, according to Maksym Kozytskyi, the head of the Lviv Regional State Administration. The vehicles, vital for frontline operations, arrived in Lviv and were officially handed over to the military in a ceremony.
The cars were either donated by volunteers or purchased and repaired through the charity campaign, embodying the spirit of international solidarity.
“These off-road vehicles save the lives of our people, ensure timely delivery of medicines, and help evacuate the wounded from the combat zone,” Kozytskyi stated, highlighting the crucial role of the vehicles.
The trucks were not empty upon arrival; they were loaded with humanitarian aid, including new tires and other essential supplies. With this latest contribution, the volunteer movement has now provided over 550 vehicles to the Ukrainian Defense Forces since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion.
These vehicles are essential for transporting soldiers, evacuating the injured, and delivering provisions and ammunition. British farmers, led by Mark Laird, who initiated the Pickups for Peace campaign, have repeatedly donated off-road vehicles. Citizens from the United States, the Netherlands, and other countries are also participating in this initiative.
The British farmer Mark Laird, founder of the “Pickups for Peace” campaign, was previously recognized for his contributions. In November 2024, 26 off-road vehicles were delivered to the Ukrainian Defense Forces as part of the same charity event.
Maksym Kozytskyi, head of the Lviv Regional Military Association, awarded Mark Laird a badge from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, in recognition of his efforts and dedication to the cause.
