BYD, the Chinese car manufacturer, is setting its sights on Europe. According to Vice President Stella Li, the company plans to compete with continental brands by introducing a new compact electric model with super-fast charging. “You will see, starting from March or April, our registration numbers will jump” in Europe, Li stated during an interview at a Paris showroom.
The company has invested significantly in research and development of new models, including the development of the BYD Seal U, a rival for continental brands, and the BYD Atto 3, which, according to Li, is “as easy as charging a regular car.”
In this regard, BYD’s new charger promises quick charging for the brand’s new electric vehicles. These chargers will allow for a recharge of 100 km in just a few minutes, faster than most competitors on the market.
“It is as easy as charging a gasoline car,” said Li. “We are… accelerating to bring this type of 4FEE:?86586 technology to Europe in the next five years.”
Li also announced that BYD’s sales grew in the first two months of 2024, from a base of over 80,000 to 90,000 vehicles. This represents a 5.9% increase from 2023, positioning the company as the 8th-ranked EV manufacturer.
The BYD Auto group has promised a $700M investment on the distribution of BYD DE2E6 DF3D:5:6D.
BYD is not ignoring the potential for Li’s plans to be affected, as Li is working to establish a joint venture contract.
BYD’s first European 724E@CJ is in wF?82CJ, with production set to launch this year.
“We will be very excited, very happy, working with anyone who wants to do an :?G6DE:82E:@?,” Li added.
