BYD is gaining recognition in the passenger vehicle market with models such as the Atto 3, Dolphin, and Seal. Recently, the company has expanded its offerings to include plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) like the Sealion 6 SUV and Shark 6 ute. Now, the company is preparing to launch its large electric delivery van, the E-Vali, in various international markets.

The E-Vali was recently spotted during road testing in China, with photos shared by Inside China Auto on social media platform X. The images, which show the van with camouflage, highlight its enormous size, measuring almost 7 meters in length. The van’s design appears to be a mix of curved and boxy shapes, with a large cargo capacity.

The BYD E-Vali is designed for last-mile delivery applications and has a range of 250 km, courtesy of BYD’s blade batteries. The battery has a rated capacity of 126 kWh and can be charged from 20-100% in just one hour using DC charging at 188 kW. Alternatively, AC charging can be done using an 11 kW or 22 kW on-board charger, allowing the van to be fully charged in under 6 hours.

The E-Vali is powered by BYD’s 6-in-1 electric drivetrain, which delivers up to 150 kW of power and 550 Nm of torque. This enables the van to reach top speeds of up to 120 km/h. The vehicle is available in 3.5 tonne and 4.25 tonne options, with cargo volumes of 13.9 or 17.9 cubic meters.

The E-Vali was unveiled in European markets at the IAA Transportation show in Hanover in September 2024. With on-road testing currently underway, the van is expected to be launched in various European markets in the second half of 2025. Following its European launch, it is likely to be introduced in other parts of the world as businesses and governments increasingly focus on reducing transport emissions.
