2025 10Best Trucks
From Car and Driver’s January/February 2025 issue, the annual 10Best Trucks competition has concluded. This year’s selection process was particularly challenging, with the judges having to navigate the ever-growing field of superb family and utility vehicles. Assessing the best required meticulous evaluation, and the selection of vehicles that excel in their class while offering a pleasurable driving experience.
After weeks of rigorous testing on both pavement and dirt roads, Car and Driver narrowed down the contenders to the 10 vehicles that best fulfill their intended missions while also providing a rewarding driving experience.
Chevrolet Trax
While Chevrolet has frequently received 10Best awards for its high-performance cars, like the Camaro and Corvette, the subcompact Trax crossover doesn’t share the same high-performance characteristics. Instead, it delivers brilliance in its own right.
Car and Driver recognizes any vehicle that excels in its mission, especially when it provides essential transportation at an affordable price point. The Trax is such a vehicle, offering surprising style, grace, and overall value.
Ford Maverick
In retrospect, the arrival of the Ford Maverick might have been long overdue. Conceived as a compact pickup, it’s a response to the growing consumer demand for affordable, efficient trucks that offer practicality, like a Toyota Corolla or Honda CR-V but with a truck bed.
Ford Ranger Raptor
The second generation of the Ford Ranger Raptor has finally reached U.S. shores, and the truck has proven to be worth the wait. Following a Baja-inspired design similar to the full-size F-150 Raptor, the Ranger Raptor is easier to live with in a mid-size pickup form, particularly for navigating trails, parking lots and standard garages.
Genesis GV70
Genesis has transformed from a concept to a lineup of impressive sedans and SUVs, including the Genesis GV70.
Honda CR-V
The Honda CR-V combines the best features of the award-winning Accord with the versatility of an SUV. Meeting the demands of today’s SUV-obsessed market, it maintains a dynamic prowess that rivals its sedan counterparts.

Hyundai Ioniq 5/5N
The Hyundai Ioniq 5, already a two-time winner of Car and Driver’s EV of the Year award, continues to be a top choice. Hyundai has made several updates to the 2025 model, including a rear wiper and better interior controls, improving range to 318 miles.
Kia Telluride
The Kia Telluride has consistently captured Car and Driver’s attention since its introduction in 2020. The Telluride continues to be praised for delivering a strong performance and impressive features.
Porsche Macan
The Porsche Macan continues to delight despite the rise of electric variants. Car and Driver has awarded the Macan for its excellent steering, powertrain, design, chassis, and driving position.
