Chery, a Chinese automaker, has unveiled two bold SUV concepts that showcase its innovative approach to luxury and off-road vehicles. The Phecda, a luxury SUV concept, measures 5.3 meters in length with a 3.2-meter wheelbase and is designed to seat six passengers. Its unique design features rear-hinged back doors without a central B-pillar, although it’s unclear if this will make it to production.
Phecda Luxury SUV Features
The Phecda boasts a large touchscreen and a steering wheel styled after an airplane control stick. It also features an air purification system that can operate automatically in polluted areas using data from its navigation system. The vehicle is powered by four electric motors, one at each wheel, delivering a combined 1,196 horsepower. It will be available as a full electric model or a range-extended hybrid, with an estimated range of about 2,000 kilometers.

Jetour’s Off-Road G900 Prototype
Meanwhile, Chery’s off-road division, Jetour, introduced the G900, a prototype for a new flagship SUV under its premium sub-brand Zongheng. The G900 promises off-road capabilities that surpass typical luxury SUVs, featuring Pirelli Scorpion ATR off-road tires, air suspension allowing for 35 centimeters of ground clearance, and a four-motor electric drive system.

Tiggo 9L SUV
Separately, Chery unveiled the Tiggo 9L, a new seven-seat SUV flagship unrelated to the existing Tiggo 9 model. The Tiggo 9L features a plug-in hybrid drivetrain with three electric motors and a turbocharged 2.0-liter gasoline engine. Its rugged, angular design includes unique lighting elements and brand name lettering replacing the traditional logo.
