Chery has introduced a new concept vehicle with the Journeo, an adventure van that reimagines the minivan platform. The Journeo boasts a crossover-inspired design and a host of innovative features, marking Chery’s entry into this evolving segment.

Developed by Chery’s design and development center in Raunheim, Germany, the Journeo is designed as a futuristic MPV reminiscent of Honda’s Space-Hub concept, with a focus on adventure. The design showcases a rugged aesthetic, hinting at its off-road capabilities. The vehicle features height-adjustable air suspension, airless tires, silver skid plates, carbon-like cladding, and digital side mirrors. The flowing bodywork and glass tailgate contribute to its overall sleek appearance.

The Journeo measures 204.7 inches (5,200 mm) in length, making it slightly larger than the Chrysler Pacifica.

Unlike the Pacifica, the Journeo incorporates a modular front trunk that houses a seating area, mobile kitchen, and grill. Its roof rack is equipped with solar panels and a retractable awning.

The interior’s lounge-like setup is a key highlight. The front seats can swivel 180 degrees to face rear passengers, which is paired with a rear bench that converts into a bed. The backrests fold down, offering an unobstructed view through the rear window. The design is rounded out by a panoramic glass roof and a suede-covered floor. Retractable side steps enhance entry and exit, while removable door panels can be used as cushions.
Chery has remained relatively secretive about the powertrain, but they confirm a hybrid system with a 2.0-liter gasoline engine, an electric motor, and a three-speed transmission. The company also mentioned a sophisticated driver assistance system, including parking assistance and “navigation at high speeds.”
