The Chinese automotive industry has established itself as a global innovator, producing highly competitive plug-in hybrids and electric vehicles. Now, the country is looking skyward through the efforts of aviation company AeroHT, a subsidiary of Xpeng. At the 2025 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, AeroHT unveiled its Land Aircraft Carrier concept, a vehicle that combines ground and air transport.

The Land Aircraft Carrier essentially consists of a six-wheeled van paired with a two-person drone, which launches from the van’s cargo area. The drone, with its six rotors, is an all-electric eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing) aircraft. AeroHT claims that the drone is designed for ease of use, requiring only five minutes of learning and three hours of practice to master flight, thanks to sophisticated guidance software. Operation is controlled by a joystick between the seats.
The van itself offers more than just drone transport. It has a “range-extended powertrain,” possibly with an internal combustion engine, giving it a range of 1,000 kilometers (621 miles). While docked within the van, the drone recharges automatically. AeroHT states that a full charge will provide enough power for six flights, although the length of each flight isn’t specified. The van is more than just a transport; it features a futuristic design with a four-passenger interior. The van’s dimensions—217 inches long, 79 inches wide, and 79 inches tall—make it relatively compact for its capabilities, suitable for urban environments.

AeroHT is aiming for a 2026 production launch. The company believes it will be the first to mass-produce flying cars, and they are currently seeking consumer interest in both the Land Aircraft Carrier and their eVTOL Flying Car, which debuted at CES last year.
With a price converted to $280,000, the Land Aircraft Carrier, considering the cost of conversion vans and private aircraft, represents a significant investment in the future of personal transportation.
