A new render from artist Digimods Design has breathed new life into the concept, imagining what a modern Subaru Baja might look like if based on the recently debuted 2026 Subaru Outback. The design modifies the Outback by removing the rear cargo top and extending the rear end into a truck bed, creating a unique blend of classic and modern Subaru elements.
Key Features of the Hypothetical Modern Baja
The original Baja was loosely based on the Outback, measuring six inches longer to accommodate the extended bed area. It was limited to four seats, but a modern version could potentially include a rear bench or even a double bench option to maximize seating capacity.
The new Outback’s design, with its squared-off and bulkier appearance, makes it an ideal candidate for a truck conversion.
