Fatal Motorcycle Crash Claims Life in Medina County
SEVILLE, Ohio — A Creston man died Tuesday night after losing control of his motorcycle and being struck by a truck in a Medina County crash, according to the Medina County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to a 911 call reporting the accident on State Route 3 in Seville, near the intersection with Mud Lake Road, shortly before 8 p.m. The crash involved a motorcycle and a GMC Sierra pickup truck, the sheriff’s office reported.
Authorities indicated that 31-year-old Colter Kerfoot, a resident of Creston, was traveling south on Wooster Pike. He was behind a semi-tractor and trailer when he attempted to pass the semi in the opposite lane.
To avoid a northbound car, Kerfoot swerved, losing control of his motorcycle. He was ejected from the bike and landed in the southbound lane. The GMC pickup truck driver was unable to stop and struck Kerfoot, the sheriff’s office stated.
Kerfoot was pronounced dead at the scene after efforts to save his life failed. The investigation is ongoing.
