Daily Driving Dilemma: Giant Pickup vs. Sprinter Van
We put the Ram 2500 and Mercedes-Benz Sprinter to the test to see which makes a better daily driver. The Ram 2500 is easier to drive fast, but its less precise steering can be a challenge at higher speeds. In contrast, the Sprinter prefers a more sedate pace but tracks better with its car-like tires.

The Ram 2500 has a nicer interior, which is designed more like a car, while the Sprinter’s dash layout is built with industrial-grade plastics. However, the Sprinter’s seats are just as comfortable as those in the Ram. Both vehicles have big, supportive back seats, but the Ram feels plusher.
Power and Economy
The Ram 2500’s 6.7-liter, 430-hp turbodiesel engine makes passing much easier compared to the Sprinter’s 2.0-liter, 208-hp turbodiesel. Despite its larger size and more powerful engine, the Ram 2500 averaged 18.7 mpg on our road trip, close to the Sprinter’s 20 mpg.

One feature that stands out in the Ram 2500 is its exhaust brake, which is particularly useful when towing. The Sprinter could benefit from a similar feature.
Daily Driving Experience
Both vehicles are unwieldy compared to cars or SUVs, but the Ram 2500 is slightly easier to maneuver. The Sprinter’s tall height can be a challenge in tight spaces, while the Ram’s broad turning circle can feel invasive.

In conclusion, while both vehicles have their strengths and weaknesses, the Ram 2500 has a slight edge as a daily driver due to its nicer interior and easier high-speed driving. However, the Sprinter excels in hauling capacity and flexibility.
