This conversion is the brainchild of Smyth Kit Cars, a company specializing in distinctive vehicle modifications. They have masterfully adapted the Charger, a model that has a large V8 sedan, into a pickup. At a glance, the concept of a muscle car-pickup truck hybrid might appear unconventional. Chargers have always exuded a certain brawn, while trucks are defined by function. Smyth Kit Cars sought to unite these aspects effectively. Founder Mark Smith explained their ambition: “We’ve already revolutionized the world of small trucks with our Jetta pickup. But it was only a matter of time before we got our hands on a large V8 sedan to create an American-style hybrid.”
Smith noted that the Charger, produced from 2005 to 2020, was an ideal candidate due to its four-door muscle car design. The truck’s cargo area is a key element of the transformation, offering a spacious and functional design. The workshop also provides options for those seeking a more unique look, including police-themed versions and Hellcat-inspired details.
Smith is enthusiastic about the outcome, stating, “This hybrid is perfect as a daily means of transportation, but it will also make a great impression at car and coffee gatherings.”
