Driver Killed in Pahrump Crash
Pahrump, NV (KLAS) – A fatal collision in Pahrump on Tuesday claimed the life of a driver after they veered into oncoming traffic, Nevada State Police reported.
The incident occurred on State Route 160, north of Rainbow Avenue. According to police, the driver of a southbound Toyota Tacoma pickup truck, for reasons still under investigation, crossed over the left-turn lane and the centerline, entering the northbound travel lanes.
A northbound Dodge Ram pickup truck attempted to avoid a collision by steering to the right, but was unsuccessful. The front right of the Toyota pickup struck the front of the Dodge pickup.
The Toyota was redirected to the left, entering the paved northbound outside shoulder and desert area. The Dodge, meanwhile, was redirected to the right, coming to rest on the paved northbound outside shoulder and desert area, just east of the Toyota.
The driver of the Toyota was pronounced dead at the scene. The Nevada State Police continue their investigation.
