Idaho State Police Reveal Details of Deadly Tour Van Crash
WEST YELLOWSTONE, Mont. (AP) โ Idaho State Police have disclosed that the driver of a tour van involved in a fatal collision with a pickup truck on U.S. Highway 20 near Henry’s Lake State Park was licensed in California. The tour was organized by Ctour Holiday LLC, a major international tour operator.
The crash, which occurred on Thursday, May 1, 2025, claimed the lives of six people in the Mercedes van and the pickup truck driver. The van was carrying 13 passengers โ 12 Chinese nationals and one Italian โ to Yellowstone National Park.

The pickup truck driver was identified as 25-year-old Isaih Moreno from Humble, Texas. Police have not confirmed whether the van driver was among the fatalities.
Ctour Holiday did not respond to messages seeking comment. The Chinese Consulate General in San Francisco reported that five Chinese citizens were killed and eight were injured. They activated their emergency mechanism to assist the injured and the families of the victims.
The investigation is ongoing, with police working closely with Ctour Holiday and the relevant consulates. The bodies of the deceased are to be taken to the Ada County Coroner’s Office for autopsies and formal identification.
Three people were seriously injured, with two flown to a hospital in Idaho Falls and one to a hospital in Bozeman, Montana. Due to privacy considerations, no information about their conditions was released.
The crash remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the cause and circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
