US-based E-Van, the composite body division of Embassy Specialty Vehicles, has introduced a new insulated liner designed for various electric vehicle (EV) applications. The innovative liner provides exceptional thermal resistance in a slim design, making it suitable for EVs ranging from delivery vans and work trucks to RVs and buses.
The insulated liner utilizes a rigid vacuum insulation panel featuring a microporous core encased in a thin, gas-tight envelope. This design delivers high thermal resistance, maintaining stable cargo temperatures, extending EV range by reducing HVAC load, and enhancing passenger comfort. The ultra-thin design maximizes interior cargo space, allowing space-constrained EV designs to benefit from the 2.5-inch thickness of the insulated walls.
The liner can be seamlessly integrated into various wall, roof, and floor systems, adapting to specific vehicle designs. According to Mike Schoeffler, CEO of Embassy Specialty Vehicles, “The E-Van insulated liner complements the core E-Van body, enhancing thermal resistance that will aid in improving the efficiency and range of commercial EVs.” The liner’s lightweight construction and R-60 insulation rating reduce the energy requirements for heating and cooling commercial EVs, thereby increasing potential range and enabling the development of refrigerated commercial EVs.

This advancement in EV technology is poised to significantly impact the commercial EV sector by improving efficiency, range, and overall performance.
