NewsChannel 13 gained exclusive access to a South Glens Falls home that was severely damaged when a pickup truck crashed into it on Wednesday. The incident occurred during a police chase that culminated in an officer-involved shooting.
Fortunately, the four residents were not at home at the time of the collision. If they had been present, they would have witnessed the state trooper shooting the driver of the truck, Billy Cassell III of Kingsbury, after he allegedly refused to surrender his loaded shotgun when ordered to do so.
The homeowner expressed relief that insurance would cover most of the repair costs. However, the deductible will need to be paid by Cassell, who is currently recovering from his injuries.
For a detailed look at the damage inside the home, viewers can watch Dan Levy’s video report.
