Fact-checking the Tesla Water Engine Claim

Social media is rife with claims, and it’s important to check the facts! Recently, a Facebook post made a sensational claim: Elon Musk had unveiled a water-powered car, calling it the “Tesla Water Engine” and hyping its potential to transform the automotive industry.

However, this claim does not hold water. There is no credible evidence to support it.

    Why the Claim is False

    • No Official Announcement: There have been no official announcements from Tesla or Elon Musk about a water-powered car.
    • Physics Doesn’t Support It: The laws of thermodynamics make a water-powered car highly improbable. Extracting energy from water requires more energy than it produces.
    • AI-Generated Images: The images accompanying the Facebook post appear to be AI-generated, featuring inconsistencies in Musk’s appearance and the Tesla logo.

    Our Ruling

We rate this claim that Tesla debuted a water-powered engine False.

    Other False Claims

This isn’t the first time misleading claims about Tesla products have surfaced. Previously, we debunked claims that the company had launched a $12,000 tiny house and a robot that could carry a pregnancy.
