One person died following a collision involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck in Salt Lake City, prompting a lengthy road closure.
Salt Lake City’s police and fire departments were dispatched to the scene near 1700 South State Street shortly before 6:15 p.m. on Saturday.
Paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital, where the person later died.
The other driver is reportedly assisting with the ongoing investigation.
Authorities have diverted all southbound traffic on State Street at Kensington Avenue and diverted westbound traffic on 1700 South to northbound State Street.
The identity of the deceased has not been released.
This crash marks the second traffic-related fatality in Salt Lake City for 2025.
