FedEx Van Rolls Backwards Into California Home After Driver Error
A FedEx delivery van rolled backward into a home in northern California after the driver reportedly forgot to put the vehicle in park. Video footage captured the driver’s attempts to stop the runaway vehicle before it collided with both the house and the homeowner’s car.
The incident occurred while the driver was delivering a package. According to the homeowner, speaking with Inside Edition, the driver was visibly distressed. “Ma’am, it popped out of gear. I don’t know how. I swear. I parked it, and I got out and it started moving. I’m so sorry,” the driver said.
Following the initial impact, the homeowner went inside to retrieve insurance information. While she was inside, the van, which had initially rolled back, then began rolling forward, this time moving towards the road.
FedEx issued an apology shortly after the event. “We apologize for this situation, and we are working directly with those involved to resolve this matter,” a FedEx representative told Inside Edition.
This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of vehicle safety and attentiveness, even during routine tasks.
